6 Awesome Infographic Builders to Spruce up Your Content

6 Awesome Infographic Builders to Spruce up Your Content

An infographic is a visual representation of information. They typically manifest themselves as prettily annotated series of charts, statistics, and illustrations – and they do wonders for marketers.

In fact, infographics have now become an integral part of visual marketing campaigns for brands large and small – which is unsurprising when you consider that infographics attract three times more shares and likes than any other content on social media.

But even if we put the stats to one side, the sight of a beautifully crafted infographic does nothing but add prestige to a blog post or white paper. It makes information easier to digest, and stands as a testament to the amount of effort that has gone into the publication.

In short, an infographic is never a bad thing – unless it’s poorly designed, of course.

But how exactly do you create an infographic that doesn’t look terrible – without having to code it from scratch?

These six web-based infographic builders will do the trick:

1. Visme

Visme allows you to create interactive presentations, infographics and other engaging content. With tons of templates, and huge library of free shapes & icons to choose from, Visme has you creating awesome visual content right away.

However, the free version only allows you to create up to three simultaneous projects, and forces you to display Visme branding.

2. Infrogr.am

Infogr.am has been in business for some time now, allowing users to make use of their extensive library of infographic templates, charts, and graphics.

You can publish using their domain and embed your content elsewhere, and you can even connect with third-party sources like Google Sheets, a Dropbox file, or a JSON feed.

3. Canva

Canva is a relatively new but hugely popular image editing tool that also boasts infographic building capabilities.

It serves up tonnes of image editing tools, and even provides you with free stock images (which are of surprisingly good quality). The only problem is, you’ll have to import your own charts and graphs from elsewhere.

4. Venngage

By choose from a range of simple yet bold templates, you can begin customizing your design to include your information. Venngage provides hundreds of charts, maps, and icons, while also allowing you to upload your own images and backgrounds.

Venngage also lets you animate your infographics – although I’m not sure how well that fits into the idea of professional presentation.

5. Piktochart

As one of the best looking platforms on the list, Piktochart is a popular infographic and presentation tool that can turn boring data into professional graphics and banners.

Piktochart's customizable editor lets you do things like modify colour schemes and fonts, insert graphics and upload images. Its grid lined templates also make it easy to align graphical elements and resize images proportionally around the platform’s brilliantly designed templates.

The free version limits you in terms of free templates, though.

6. Ease.ly

This free browser-based infographic builder grants you access to a library of design elements such as arrows, shapes and connector lines, and you can customize the text with range of fonts, colours, text styles and sizes.

Ease.ly also lets you upload your graphics before dragging-and-dropping them into place. Ease.ly offers a dozen free ad customizable templates to kickstart your infographic, but its image library is pretty basic.

Worth a Thousand Words

Infographics are commonplace across the web now, and when they pair interesting information with awesome design, they really can be worth a thousand words.

So do your next publication a massive favour; don’t just include an infographic, include a well made infographic by using one of the infographic builders above.
