Introduce your business and tell us your story: How did you decide on what to sell, and how did you source your products?

My husband smoked for 35 years. We tried everything to quit. Nothing worked except electronic cigarettes (personal vaporizers). We were so impressed with how well they worked that we wanted to help others make the switch. We use overseas suppliers for hardware, and our e-liquid is made in house.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

We started by selling and giving away e-cig hardware from our home to friends and family. We then had a small website made. We then opened a brick & mortar store and created our own e-liquid line. Then we moved over to Shopify. We have our Facebook page, Twitter and other social media sites as well as being listed on maps showing vape shops in Canada. We now wholesale our e-liquid across Canada, ship retail across Canada and the US. We get most of our traffic and sales from vapers.tv, Facebook, ectaofcanada.ca, Reddit, etc.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

Product Reviews, Mailchimp, LiveChat, Product Customizer, Customer Pricing by Boldapps, Order Printer, Wishlist, Persistant Cart. All these apps have helped us greatly. We use Canada post externally and ship from our brick and mortar store.

What are your top recommendations for new store owners?
